Expressions of Interest Coordinator Marketing and Promotion for TRA

(Part Time Contract Position)

TRA Ltd is seeking applications from individuals for a role as the TRA Ltd Coordinator of Marketing and Promotion.

Description, Scope and Duties of the Role

Initially, it is envisaged the role of Marketing and Promotions Coordinator as being a part-time role of 5-10 hours per week with the main responsibilities as follows:

  • Conduct an initial review TRA Ltd.’s current marketing and promotion initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Marketing and Promotion Strategy for the organisation (subject to approval from the TRA Ltd Board of Directors)
  • Compile a monthly E-Magazine / E- bulletin update for distribution to member organisations, affiliated clubs and members.
  • Source and develop revenue streams for TRA’s marketing and promotion activities where possible (e.g., advertising – website, social media and e-magazine / bulletin, sponsorship, grants and other funding opportunities)
  • Liaise with Shooting Australia’s Communication and Events Manager and Digital Media Coordinator to market and promote the sport of small-bore rifle and air rifle shooting domestically and internationally.

The role will be a contracted role and subject to a service agreement similar to that of the service agreement developed for the TRA Ltd Executive Officer.

Remuneration:  An appropriate Service agreement and remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Proposed Term: An initial term / contract of 15 months will be offered, including a 3-month probationary period with a review prior to the conclusion of the contact. Subject to a successful review, a contract extension for a further two years with annual reviews may be offered.  

SELECTION CRITERIA: Candidates applying for the Co-ordinator – Marketing and Promotion role will require a range of personal and professional skills, qualifications and experience, including:

Professional

  1. Tertiary qualifications and / or a minimum of three years’ experience working in a marketing and promotion or sport management related field are preferred but not essential
  2. An understanding of the Australian sporting system and network, in particular the sport of small-bore and air rifle target shooting is preferred, but not essential
  3. Proven experience working in a collaborative environment to achieve joint objectives
  4. A proven ability to build strong relationships and influence members, clubs, State Sporting Organisations and National Sporting Organisations
  5. Experience in generating revenue through sponsorship, marketing and promotion initiatives via government, corporate and / or commercial sources.
  6. Hold or be able to obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN).
