Safeguarding Children

Participation in sport should be safe, inclusive, and respectful for everyone. Target Rifle Australia (TRA) is committed to providing an environment where all individuals – especially children and young people – are treated with dignity and respect, and are protected from bullying, discrimination, harassment, and abuse.

TRA believes that everyone involved in our sport has the right to feel safe and supported. We actively promote behaviours that foster safety, inclusion, and mutual respect, while taking a strong stance against any conduct that undermines these values.

Target Rifle Australia (TRA) – Child Safe Commitment Statement

Target Rifle Australia (TRA) is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people involved in TRA competitions, events, and activities. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every participant feels protected and supported. TRA ensures that all individuals involved are informed of their responsibilities in helping to protect children and young people from harm.

Every child and young person has the right to feel safe, respected, and free from all forms of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. They deserve the opportunity to participate in sport within a secure, positive, and enjoyable setting. TRA maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse or neglect.

TRA is focused on building and sustaining a child-safe culture that is clearly understood, consistently implemented, and upheld by all members of our community.

Our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy reflects TRA’s proactive commitment to the safety, wellbeing, participation, and empowerment of all children who engage in our activities. The policy outlines the rights and responsibilities of everyone involved and defines the standards of behaviour expected, as well as behaviours that are deemed unacceptable.
